To prevent crimes, the government punishes the whole family for three generations forward if someone breaks the law.
#5 North Korea owes Sweden more than $2,8 million
Kim II-Sung bought 1000 Volvo cars in the 70s but he didn’t pay for them. Sweden is still waiting for its money; the government sends invoices to North Korea each year.
#6 North Korea has a propaganda village at the border with South Korea
It’s a so-called “Peace Village” which was built in 1950. North Korea wanted to show the neighbours all the privileges of living in the country. However, the modern technology allowed South Korea to see that the houses are empty boxes with no floors or inner walls.

The citizens are divided into 51 social categories depending on how loyal they are to the government.
