5 super easy tips on how to eat healthier

As it turns out, it's not that hard to get the most out of everything you eat, even using the most ordinary products we buy all the time. Here is a short list of simple tips and tricks that will take your meals to the next level
There are foods that properly fuel your body with the nutrients it needs, while others only do the bare minimum. Fortunately, we live in an age where food is abundant. Unlike our ancestors, we don’t need to hunt or gather to make sure we survive. We just need to go to the nearest supermarket. But not all food is created equal.
#1 Mix your peanut butter with seeds

Despite popular claims, peanut butter is not bad for our health: we just need to enjoy it in moderation. This delicious paste is already loaded with quite a bit of protein. However, if you want to enjoy more of its benefits, it's better to switch to all natural butter without sugar.
Another great idea is to load up your current peanut butter with an assortment of seeds. Not only would adding chia and pumpkin seeds give the peanut butter more texture, it will also up the nutrients significantly.
#2 Consume watermelon seeds

While we’re on the topic of seeds, you could try some watermelon goodness. Watermelons are miracle fruit. They’re packed with nutrients and flavor but they’re mostly water, so they won’t affect your caloric intake too much.
What’s more, their seeds contain over 30g of protein per coup. You can easily grind some up to add to a post workout smoothie, as a healthy source of protein.
#3 Cook vegetables whole

Whether we’re talking about carrots or potatoes, try to cook your veggies whole whenever you can. This ensures that they maintain their maximum nutrition and flavor. Carrots for example, maintain 25% more falcarinol if they’re cooked whole. This is an important compound that is known to have cancer preventing properties.
#4 Eat processed tomatoes

Yes, you read that right. Whenever you’re making food that calls for tomatoes, go for canned over fresh. Oftentimes supermarket tomatoes are picked green and grown specifically to maximize shelf life, not flavor or nutrition. Canned tomatoes are picked ripe and they’re the best source of lycopene, a nutrient thought to have beneficial effects on heart health.
#5 Give your grains an extra edge by cooking them in green tea

Cooking your rice in green tea can infuse it with antioxidants as well as help with gut health and weight loss. Additionally, if you want to get the most fiber with the least amount of starch, give your rice a thorough wash before you cook it. The clearer you can get the water to be, the more starch you’ve gotten rid of.
