- KFC was acquired in October 1986 by PepsiCo, Inc., for approximately $840 million

- In 1995, in his mid-50s, Wally Blume started his own ice cream company, Denali Flavors
- He spent almost 20 years in the dairy business
- Today, the famous Moose Tracks flavor alone brings in $80 million a year alone through licensing agreements
#3 Julia Child, 49
- Julia Child was a popular TV chef and the author of the best-selling cookbook “Mastering the Art of French Cooking”
- Before she became famous, Julia worked as a typist and file clerk
- She moved to Paris because of her husband’s job and attended the world-famous Cordon Bleu cooking school
- In 1993, she was rewarded for her work when she became the first woman inducted into the Culinary Institute Hall of Fame
#4 Ray Kroc, 52
- Ray Kroc expanded McDonald’s from a local chain to the world’s most profitable restaurant franchise operation
- Before that he used to sell paper cups and milkshake machines
- He created a strict guideline and ensured that McDonald’s food would look and taste the same across franchises
- His personal fortune was estimated at $500 million
