#1 Is it possible to cool down the room if you open the fridge?
A refrigerator works to move heat from its inside to the coils on the backside. If you open its door the compressor will work more actively to keep the temperature inside the fridge and thus the room will get warmer.
#2 Why do fireflies glow?
Luciferin is a molecule that reacts with oxygen, adenosine triphosphate (an energy source in organisms)and enzymes. As a result, the oxyluciferin is formed, which is the key factor for glowing. The firefly can regulate the amount of oxygen that goes to its abdomen to produce oxyluciferin. So it can turn on or off the glow.
#3 Why is the sundown red and golden?
Everything is connected with the wavelength. At sunset, the light must travel further to reach the eyes, so the color spectrum shifts to longer wavelength – the red, orange, and yellow.
#4 How does an UV lamp dry gel nail polish?
Gel nail polish contains photoinitiators which absorb UV radiation. UV light triggers chemical reactions which help fluid gel to transform to the solid resin. Due to chemical restructuring which is the result of molecular chains become harder.

American scientists assumed that yawning is a cooling mechanism of our brain. During the experiment, people were asked to put some ice on their forehead when they felt like yawning. Сontagious yawning decreased significantly.
#7 Why do we see better when we squint?
People with bad eyesight have slightly deformed eyeballs. So when they squint the form of their eyes changes a bit and that helps to see a clearer picture. The other reason is that tensing the upper and lower eyelids removes the flow of light from the upper and lower sides of the eyes. And the light that goes straight to the eyes doesn't require focusing.
